JOhn, this has certainly been a historic week in the House.

Usually, though, the House makes history when it passes legislation — not when it fails 14 times to elect a Speaker. And make no mistake: while Kevin McCarthy finally secured the votes he needed, he's going to keep having to make concession after concession to the House Freedom Caucus in the weeks ahead. We have most certainly not seen the last of the House GOP's dysfunction and disunity.

We're witnessing Republicans reap what they've sown. They've had so many chances to rid themselves of Trumpism and election denialism — but they refused, deciding instead to lurch further right in an effort to gin up base turnout at the ballot box.

The dangerous and unserious voices who were repeatedly given a platform for years are now demanding even more power, and the party is clueless about how to stop them.

This week's humiliating display makes one thing clear: Republicans are in no position to responsibly govern.

The American people deserve so much better. So JOhn, we need to get to work to make sure that this dangerous and incompetent Republican majority doesn't last past 2024.

Will you donate to my campaign today? My district is likely to be highly competitive once again, and we need to cut off as many potential Republican gains as possible.

Thank you,
