John, Right now, at least two members of Congress and five state legislators are beginning their latest term in office after participating in the January 6th insurrection. Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment is clear: No one who previously swore an oath to defend the Constitution may serve in public office if they "engaged in insurrection or rebellion" against the U.S. government. But to remove these elected officials who have returned to power after engaging in the insurrection, our representatives will need to take action. Sign if you agree: Elected-officials-turned-insurrectionists must be investigated and removed from office. Elected-officials-turned-insurrectionists have no business serving in public office, and Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment makes clear that they are barred. To protect and defend our democracy at this moment in history, we must fight to uphold the mandate of this critical constitutional provision.
