When gateway phone companies like Articul8 violated state and federal laws to enable robocalls, Josh didn’t hesitate to file a lawsuit alleging those violations to protect NC consumers. He is now leading a bipartisan Anti-Robocall Litigation Task Force with AGs from across the country to hold gateway phone companies accountable when they turn a blind eye to the robocallers they let onto their networks just so they can make more money.
When Navient deceived student loan borrowers and drove them further into debt, Josh helped negotiate a $1.85 billion settlement. Last year, Josh and his team secured over $270 million for North Carolina student borrowers.
When pharmaceutical industry giants like Purdue Pharma flooded our state with opioids, Josh held them accountable and sought justice for the families they had harmed. Josh and his team have helped secure more than $50 billion nationwide in funds to help save lives of those struggling with addiction. North Carolina will receive $1.4 billion.
And whenever there is fraud and abuse by health care companies and providers, as well as patient abuse and neglect in facilities that are funded by Medicaid, Josh and his team are ready to protect North Carolina taxpayers. In 2022, the NCDOJ’s Medicaid Investigations team surpassed $1 billion in recoveries and restitution since the division’s creation.
Folks, powerful special interests don’t get to play by their own set of rules. And Josh has proven that he will not hesitate to make sure corporations follow the rules of the road and do not mistreat consumers.
