Until this week, the most noteworthy thing Travis Hackworth has done since joining the Virginia Senate in 2021 is proposing a bill that would have weakened the rights and protections of transgender and nonbinary students in Virginia (which Democrats thankfully voted down in the Senate).
At an event this past weekend, Senator Hackworth said his priority in this session is passing a “life at conception” bill.

GOP members in the House of Delegates have already filed bills to ban abortion and limit access to abortion care for women who receive state-sponsored healthcare. Now the GOP members in the Senate have theirs too.
Democrats have an opportunity to expand their majority in the Senate and protect abortion rights in Virginia with the special election on Tuesday. Can we count on you to help us turn out the vote in SD-07 and send another pro-choice Democrat to Richmond?
