John,

Dignity isn’t a privilege, it's a right. Nowhere is that right disregarded
and violated more than in prison. And so, as we kick off 2023, we are
getting back to work partnering with Empathy Network Leader Tonie Willis
to create much needed change in Pennsylvania.

We must change the inhumane, unequal, and unjust policies around how
incarcerated women and incarcerated pregnant women in Pennsylvania are
treated. Dignity for Incarcerated Women does that. Here is what the
Dignity for Incarcerated Women Bill does:

* Ensure that incarcerated women in PA are no longer subject to invasive
strip searches or harmful interactions with male corrections
personnel.
* Allow incarcerated parents to maintain their family relationships by
allowing children under the age of 18 to see their parents at least
two times a week.
* Change the way pregnant women are treated while incarcerated, limiting
the use of restraints and restrictive housing throughout the entirety
of the pregnancy including before, during, and after labor.
* Ensure that pregnant women are given proper food and dietary
supplements, and allow for a newborn baby to remain with their mother
for up to 72 hours post delivery.
* Provide a sufficient supply of feminine hygiene products at no extra
cost to the women who require and request these items.

John we need you in this fight for justice. Click the button

In the upcoming weeks, we will be sending you updates with vital
information on how you can take action to support this legislation with
details on additional opportunities to add your voice and energy to this
movement.
