2023 will be a busy year at the Capitol, but we've got you covered.

Friend –

The new year is officially here, meaning the Wisconsin State Legislature is back in session. Legislative sessions are an essential part of our democracy, when our elected officials in the Senate and Assembly introduce bills, hold public hearings, confirm executive appointments, approve the state budget, and attempt to pass new laws.

The 2023-24 session will run through spring 2024, and the ACLU of Wisconsin has got you covered for all of it.

Our team will be in the fight all session long – lobbying elected leaders, testifying at public hearings, working to pass legislation that protects civil rights and liberties while defeating harmful bills, and rallying our supporters and coalition partners to come together and take action. It's important to remember that we can all play an active role in the crucial legislative battles that will play out this year. We, the people, do make a difference.

You can stay up to date on what's happening at the Capitol by following the legislation page on our website, <[link removed]> where we'll update you on the latest developments on bills important to the ACLU and keep you informed about the work we're doing.

You can also head to the Wisconsin state legislature website <[link removed]> to learn more about the legislative process, find out who your state representatives and senators are, and how to contact them and track the progress of every piece of legislation that gets introduced.

Even in a political climate like Wisconsin's, we can all get involved in this legislative cycle and stand up for our communities. We look forward to working with you to make Wisconsin a better and more just place in 2023.

In solidarity,
