Folks, one of the first things I learned as a cadet at West Point was our honor code:

"A cadet will not lie, cheat, or steal, or tolerate those who do."

Well, Republican congressman-elect George Santos has been accused of doing all three of those things:

He lied about his work experience and his educational background. Not only that — but Santos claimed his family fled the Holocaust. Now, we know he lied about that too. And just last month, he wined and dined with a group of anti-Semitic Nazi sympathizers, one of whom even mocked the Holocaust.

He cheated in this election by running as an almost entirely different person than he really is. Santos deceived voters, undermining the sanctity of our elections and voters’ democratic duty.

He also allegedly stole a checkbook and wrote fraudulent checks, according to the New York Times . He’s facing criminal charges in Brazil according to this extensive report.

Folks, I’m still trying to wrap my head around all of George Santos’s lies and exaggerations. But in the meantime, I’m more focused on making sure people like him do *not* end up in positions of power.

I’m going to do everything I can to build up the strength of the New York Democratic Party so we have a strong message heading into the next election cycle — a message about honesty, truth, and credibility.

Meanwhile, Republicans are staying silent about their future colleague’s fake resume and alleged crimes. It’s clear they don’t care about integrity or honor, only about their headcount in the House to pass their harmful legislation. Leaders Kevin McCarthy and Elise Stefanik will back any Republican that will help them increase their power.

We need to send a signal, loud and clear, that candidates like George Santos will never be tolerated. Can you chip in to my campaign so we can hold liars like Santos accountable? [[link removed]]

Thank you for your support. I promise you that I will always serve with honor, just like West Point taught me to do.

Yours in service,
