[1]Cori Bush

It took too long to get here,
John. But let's take a moment to
celebrate what finally happened.

After 15 rounds of votes, Republicans finally chose their Speaker of the
House and members of Congress were *finally* sworn into office. Two years
after making history as the first Black woman to represent Missouri in the
House of Representatives, Cori was sworn into the 118th Congress, with
sights set on even greater progress in her second term.

Every day for the past two years, Cori has worked to save lives and
transform St. Louis. Cori accomplished more in her first term in Congress
than some members do in decades of office, just take a look at her record:

✅ Environmental action: Cori introduced the Green New Deal for Cities with
Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to fund an expansive array of
climate jobs and projects.

✅ Reproductive rights: Cori’s campaign took swift action when the Supreme
Court overturned Roe v. Wade — setting out on a statewide tour to
communicate with voters about reproductive rights and launching a digital
support hub.

✅ Housing action: Cori stayed on the steps of the Capitol for five days
straight calling on the Biden Administration to extend the eviction
moratorium for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic. Cori continued her
work to keep people housed with the introduction of the Keeping Renters
Safe Act with Senator Elizabeth Warren.

✅ Ground-breaking legislation: Cori transformed the future of public
safety with the People's Response Act. She also introduced
first-of-its-kind legislation to provide much-needed support to families
and communities, including the Helping Families Heal Act, Worker Safety in
Climate Disasters Act, and Access to School Supplies Act.

✅ No corporate PAC influence: Cori managed to do all of this with a true,
people-powered movement — and without any corporate PAC money. A rare
accomplishment in an era where most members of Congress fund their
campaigns with checks from their corporate PAC allies.

Now, Cori's facing one of her biggest challenges in Congress yet: a
GOP-controlled House.

John, if we’re
going to accomplish Cori’s progressive agenda, we need your support EARLY.

That means starting strong right now and ensuring this campaign has the
resources needed for rapid response against right-wing attacks. [ [link removed] ]Will
you chip in $5 right now and help us prepare to stand up
and fight back?

Cori made big waves during her first term in Congress because of this
grassroots team and her background as an activist, mother, and someone who
knows what it feels like to not be represented by our leaders. But that’s
exactly why Fox News and the far-right media eagerly try to shut her and
our movement down.

We need her to amplify Cori's voice in Missouri's First District and
nationally so she can keep making real progress on racial justice,
addressing the climate crisis, and ensuring everyone is guaranteed quality
health care. [ [link removed] ]Please, will you commemorate Cori's swearing in and
underscore your commitment to this movement with a $5
donation?

Together,

Team Cori
