We’re officially in an election year, so I thought this was an important opportunity to remind everyone what we’ve accomplished and what we’re continuing to fight for heading into 2020.
✔ We’ve introduced and passed 9 bipartisan bills supporting our veterans in the House. Among the bills I ushered through the House include the Protect the GI Bill Act to protect veterans from predatory, for-profit colleges.
✔ We’ve brought our community a $300 million federal investment to clean up pollution in the Tijuana River Valley. This was a part of the USMCA trade deal, and it's a major win for our coastal economy and our environment.
✔ We’ve taken major legislative action to remove spent nuclear fuel from the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station through the Spent Fuel Prioritization Act. We need to eliminate harmful nuclear waste from our coasts.
It was a very productive 2019, but there’s much more work to do. We need to pressure the Senate to pass our bill to make prescription drugs cheaper. We need to get our universal background checks bill signed into law. And we need to increase the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour to make sure working families can thrive in this economy.
Election season is upon us. With the GOP targeting this seat, I’m asking if you’ll make your first contribution of 2020 to help fuel our campaign.
