[ [link removed] ]BREAKING FROM AP NEWS:
“Federal judges ordered South Carolina lawmakers to draw new congressional
maps, ruling that district lines of a seat flipped by Democrats four years
ago were intentionally redrawn to split Black neighborhoods to dilute
their voting power … and make it a safer seat for Republicans.”

This is just another reason why gerrymandering – where politicians draw
their own district lines and pick their own voters – should be ILLEGAL.

314 Action was proud to play a major part in helping ocean engineer Joe
Cunningham flip South Carolina’s 1st District blue in 2018. Then
Republicans at the state level gerrymandered it to be a Safe Republican
seat, violating the law in the process and targeting tens of thousands of
Black voters.

Because the superconservative majority on the Supreme Court gutted the
Voting Rights Act of 2013, Republicans have gerrymandered state after
state.

[ [link removed] ]In fact, Democrats would have DEFENDED our House majority if the GOP
wasn’t able to gerrymander more than a dozen House seats to their
advantage.

[ [link removed] ]Gerrymandering damages our democracy and diminishes the power of the
American people: Add your name if you agree it should be BANNED for good!
