Governor Ron DeSantis was sworn into office on Tuesday on the steps of Florida’s Historic Capitol Building for a second term as Florida’s Governor.
Joined by First Lady Casey DeSantis and their three children, Madison, Mason, and Mamie, Governor DeSantis delivered an Inaugural address that outlined Florida’s Freedom Blueprint. You can watch the full speech here.
“When the world lost its mind – when common sense suddenly became an uncommon virtue – Florida was a refuge of sanity, a citadel of freedom for our fellow Americans and even for people around the world. In captaining the ship of state, we choose to navigate the boisterous sea of liberty rather than cower in the calm docks of despotism.”
- Governor Ron DeSantis
Governor DeSantis highlighted in the address how his administration’s achievements have improved the lives of Floridians by guaranteeing access to high-quality education, enacting policies that have enabled Florida’s economy to grow faster than the nation’s, helping communities recover from devastating hurricanes, and making record investments to preserve Florida’s natural beauty for generations to come.
Governor DeSantis concluded his address by reaffirming his commitment to ensuring that our state remains the Free State of Florida and setting priorities for his second term in office – building on his record of tax relief, family-friendly policies, and supporting law enforcement to keep our communities safe.

Following the official swearing in ceremony, the Governor and First Lady hosted A Toast to One Million Mamas to celebrate the landmark achievement, spearheaded by First Lady Casey DeSantis, in activating 1.1 million mamas across the state to support the Governor’s re-election campaign.
The First Lady created the largest movement of parents in Florida history, and this group proved to be instrumental in ensuring the Governor was re-elected in historic fashion. In fact, thanks in no small part to the First Lady’s Million Mama Movement, Governor DeSantis won women voters by 9 points!
Governor DeSantis and First Lady Casey DeSantis hosted the Inaugural Ball to end the inaugural activities on Tuesday evening. They were joined by their three children and every member of the Florida Cabinet. Guests enjoyed the night celebrating the Free State of Florida, the accomplishments of the Governor’s first term, and all that is to come for our state.
The future of Florida is brighter than ever before. Thank you for helping us celebrate the Free State of Florida!
Governor DeSantis made history in November when he flipped 8 blue counties to red — including Democrat stronghold Palm Beach County. On Thursday, the Governor appointed Michael Barnett to the Palm Beach County Commission, solidifying a 4-3 Republican majority.
This incredible, and historic, accomplishment represents a continuation of Governor DeSantis’ historic win and freedom-focused policies from his first term in office.
Governor DeSantis doesn’t just talk the talk; he walks the walk.
This week, he made good on his commitment to ensure the public education system is focused on their primary responsibility of academic achievement and preparing students to be successful citizens. Through this new mandate, universities will no longer be able to hide behind the smokescreen of Critical Race Theory to indoctrinate and discriminate against students of differing viewpoints.
Additionally, the Governor made six appointments to the New College of Florida Board of Trustees — including Chris Rufo, a nationally known leader in the fight against Critical Race Theory and radical gender theory. Upon confirmation, these individuals will help ensure that institutions of higher learning are focused on academic excellence rather than indoctrinating students with their radical political agenda.
