Dear John,

Did you hear the news? Late last month, Congress voted to fund the STOP School Violence Act with $125 million in 2020!

This is a big deal. This funding will allow more schools across the country to access programs like our lifesaving Know the Signs curriculum. As a reminder, Sandy Hook Promise helped write and pass the STOP School Violence Act in 2018 with the help of supporters like you. This legislation created the first federal grants for school violence prevention of this kind. And now, states, school districts and tribes can apply for these grants to bring lifesaving violence prevention programs to their students.

Violence prevention programs like ours have averted school shootings, suicides and threats of violence across the country. With sustained funding for the STOP School Violence Act, we can continue to protect our children at school.

Sandy Hook Promise has proudly partnered with several states to bring this funding to more schools, and we're excited about the opportunity to do even more!

Your elected official was one of the legislators who voted "Yes" to approve funding for the STOP School Violence Act. Please send them a thank-you note to acknowledge their support for this lifesaving legislation and ensure they continue to make school safety a priority!

Send a note to your legislator to thank them for their support of the STOP School Violence Act.
