This week, Barbara served as teller for the historic Speaker vote — or should we say, votes. She was chosen to officially tally the votes for Speaker of the House in the new Congress.

But what should have been a swift process turned into a spectacle as it took 15 votes for Republicans to finally agree on who would lead their party.

If the first week under a Republican-led House is any indication of what the next two years will look like, then it’s safe to say that it will be a long two years of chaos and obstruction by a party that is unfit to govern.
