We’re just a few days into the New Year, but frankly, we’re already thinking about 2024.
Why?
Because that’s when Sherrod will be up for re-election in Ohio.
Ohio is already shaping up to be the 2024 Senate race to watch. As one of only three Senate Democrats in states Trump won in 2020, Sherrod is a prime target for Mitch McConnell and the GOP. And already Republican opponents are lining up to take on Sherrod.
Now’s when our work for 2024 really begins.
Today, we’re going to set the tone for 2024. And we need everyone on our team to work harder than ever before to stand with Sherrod and protect the progress we’ve made. Will you add your name and commit to being part of our campaign over the next two years?
This year, Sherrod is working to build on his efforts to make our economy work for everyone and stand up for every worker and family.
Making health care more affordable. Raising wages. Bringing back jobs that have been shipped overseas. Protecting people’s hard-earned pensions. These are the things Sherrod’s been fighting for all along. (Seriously -- after college, Sherrod spent his free time in local Ohio union halls. Those conversations with working Ohioans shaped everything he does in office.)
While corporations and Wall Street are focused on what’s best for their stakeholders and bottom lines, Sherrod works for Ohio.
It’s no surprise then that Sherrod has been called a “scourge” of Wall Street. It’s why we know corporate special interests will pour every penny they have into this race to try to defeat him.
But we have something better than the wealthy special interests -- we have friends like you who are committed to keeping Sherrod in office. And we just need enough people to be part of our movement so we can build a winning campaign. If a supporter in Cincinnati and a supporter from Dayton and a supporter from Canton join our team, we’ll have the power we need to out-organize the special-interest groups.
Sherrod’s counting on you -- will you add your name and promise to support his campaign in the months to come?
Thank you,
Team Sherrod
