Hey Team — Early this morning, I was officially sworn in to represent Colorado’s 7th Congressional District. And as I get to work, I wanted to reach out personally to you. Over the last year, as I’ve traveled across this district, what I’ve heard from folks is that they want a representative who will deliver results — who will fight for the regular families who are so often left behind in this country. And that’s exactly what I committed to doing. I want you to know, from my very first day I fully intend to follow through on that commitment. Growing up in Colorado, I came from a working-class family — my dad worked in construction and my mom was a hairdresser. When I was a teenager, if you had told me that I would one day have the opportunity to serve Colorado in the United States Congress, I wouldn’t ever have believed you. Serving Colorado is a privilege, and I’m going to make every single second count, friend. I will fight as hard as I possibly can for you and your family — for your freedom, for better economic opportunities, for your right to be safe in your community and to live openly as who you are. Once again, thank you so much for everything you have done to make today possible. I won’t ever forget it. Now let’s get to work, Brittany Pettersen
