New Year, new goals. For the animals.

Hi,

I can’t quite believe it, but 2023 is already a week old! While some new year’s resolutions may slip away after the calendar page turns, here’s a collective goal we’re sure to keep: to end the abuse of animals raised for food.

In 2022, you created a kinder, more compassionate world. Thanks to you, major companies made first-of-its-kind commitments to improve the lives of animals, including the first-ever pledge to keep hens out of restrictive cages from a global restaurant group in Asia. Your advocacy and your engagement in our shared movement led to big changes for hundreds of millions of animals worldwide.

Now we can use these incredible shifts as a springboard to change the world for animals this year.

Together, we are a powerful force for change.

We have big goals this year—but with the support of changemakers like you, anything is possible. Here’s what we’re looking at for 2023:

🐓 Free as many hens from cages as possible
Did you know 7,470,000,000 hens worldwide are raised just to lay eggs around the clock? And over six billion of them live in cages. Together, we can pressure more companies to make—and keep—promises to stop caging hens.

🌏 Build an unstoppable global movement for farmed animals
It takes a strong movement to tackle a trillion dollar global food industry. And with changemakers like you by our side, we’re ready. In 2023, we’ll continue to expand our reach through the Open Wing Alliance, and build a powerful global movement to fight for animals around the globe.

🐷 Advocate for pigs and fish who suffer in our food system
Some of the most abused animals in our food system live under water. Others are intelligent, social pigs suffering at the hands of the cruel pork industry. As we look to our priorities for the year ahead—on land or at sea—one thing is clear: we will not leave a single animal behind.

Right now we’re gearing up to expose companies that are refusing to free hens from restrictive cages—even after they said they would. Our brand new report calls them out on their broken promises. It’s coming soon, and you can be the first to get the inside scoop. Get in on the Eggsposé: pledge to take action to help hens!
