John — just before 2 AM, Summer was finally sworn into the U.S. House of Representatives to represent PA-12 in the 118th Congress.
Summer knows this isn’t just her moment, it’s ours, together.
Together, as a multiracial, multigenerational movement, we proved that a grassroots, people-powered campaign can defeat the millions in corporate super PAC money trying to take us down. But we know that they won’t stop just because it’s not an election year.

Because we ran a campaign focused on building coalitions of people of all races, religions, genders, and ages, we were able to make history by electing Summer to be the first Black woman to represent Western Pennsylvania in Congress.
On November 8, the people won, and now the people will have an elected leader who will act with the urgency our crises demand and allow our stories and experiences to shape policy.
