This past election cycle we saw NY-16 transform into a brand new community. We welcomed new neighbors as the district lines were drawn and fought to ensure that our voices were heard in the 2022 elections.
Now that the dust has settled, we wanted to take a moment to introduce (or re-introduce) you to NY-16 and share what makes this district so special and why we intend to fight harder than ever before for our neighborhood.

NY-16 is home to some of the most eclectic and influential neighborhoods of New York. From North Bronx, and Lower Westchester County — including Yonkers, White Plains, New Rochelle, Mount Vernon and many more great communities — NY-16 is teeming with culture, creativity, and hard workers on every block. But that does not mean we're not facing roadblocks and trials as a community.
We must consistently prioritize our work to build stronger infrastructure and climate responses to protect our neighbors. Last year, we saw unprecedented weather which caused irreparable damage to many parts of NY-16 and displaced dozens in the worst conditions. And we know that it's crucial to remain prepared for any and all challenges that come our way.
There is no one that cares about NY-16 more than Jamaal. He has fought tirelessly against establishment challengers and people who prioritize profits over people. And time and again, Jamaal has stood up for NY-16 and communities like ours, tackling inflation, unjust healthcare systems, and bringing hundreds of thousands in financial resources to heal our communities and strengthen our neighborly bonds.
From mutual aid to volunteer organizing, we know that there's no better way to get to know our home than going out to meet the newest and oldest faces of NY-16.
