Africa & Europe
Pray for the security of the IJM team, victims and witnesses who are part of cases in Kenya that involve aggressive accused persons. In Kenya, IJM works to address police abuse of power and violence against women and children – focusing on sex trafficking and sexual violence. Pray for effective restraint of criminals and for cases to proceed without intimidation or risk to witnesses or victims.
Latin America
Pray for renewed energy and continued commitment for our IJM Bolivia-trained pro-bono volunteers. Over 50 multidisciplinary teams formed by lawyers, paralegals, psychologists and social workers return this year to provide free services for child survivors of sexual violence and their families. Pray for stamina as they encounter challenges while pursuing justice for this vulnerable population.
South Asia
Pray for two important studies on IJM’s anti-sex trafficking programs. We are working with external evaluators to study IJM’s impact on this crime in two cities. We have already seen a dramatic reduction in sex trafficking of children, so we are excited to see what the external research reveals. Pray for all the tiny details that make up a study like this, and pray it would be a powerful tool for showing the government’s transformation in combating human trafficking.
Asia Pacific
Praise God for people who are becoming foster parents in the Philippines! When a child is rescued from online sexual exploitation and his or her main caregiver is the perpetrator, foster families provide safe and stable environments to help facilitate healing. Please pray that more families are willing to take on this responsibility to support survivors of online sexual exploitation!
