Dear NCRC members and allies,

We all know that community development has benefitted from strong visionary leaders who built powerful and enduring institutions. But what makes these leaders so effective? And how do we follow in their footsteps to build our organizations and lift up our communities?

Bob Zdenek, former NCRC Director of Special Initiatives, has interviewed 12 seminal leaders in community development for a paper focusing on entrepreneurial leadership themes, stages of leadership, profiles of the 12 leaders and future of community development leadership, published in 2019 by the San Francisco Federal Reserve.

At the 2020 Just Economy Conference, several of the distinguished leaders from the paper will discuss:

  • The importance of leaders’ personal vision
  • Championing the communities where we do our work
  • Grounding our work in social and economic justice
  • The challenges organizations face as they succeed and grow
The audience will have the opportunity to ask questions so that they can share insights, obstacles and leadership strategies for practitioners.

This is just one of the exciting sessions on tap for this year’s conference. Register today to secure your spot!
