John,

Two years ago exactly, I sat with my democratically elected colleagues in
the House while violent rioters stormed the United States Capitol.

Since then, Donald Trump has not been held to account for his many crimes
and his encouragement of this violent attack. Hundreds of Republicans up
and down the ballot ran on a platform of his Big Lie, all but pledging to
help overturn future elections if given the chance.

I remember not knowing that day if I would make it out of our seat of
democracy alive, or if our democracy itself would survive. That same
danger is still clear and it is still present.

We cannot let the lesson be that you can violently storm our nation’s
Capitol, threaten lives, overturn our people’s fundamental rights, and
still win.

[ [link removed] ]Progressives will always be the first line of defense against
right-wing extremists in America — especially those in Congress. Will you
stand with me today and contribute as we prepare to hold the line against
Republican extremism?

There was a time not so long ago when many Democrats believed Donald Trump
could never win the presidency in America — but he did. We cannot let what
we want to be true blind us to what is already happening.

There is no playbook for this moment. But I do believe that we will
persevere as long as we’re willing to do the hard work required to protect
our democracy.

I will never stop fighting for truth, for accountability, and for our
democracy — and neither will Democrats. Our Progressive Caucus is united
against these extremist fearmongers.

There’s a reason why I have dedicated so much time and energy to
supporting powerful, popular progressives who will bring much-needed
energy and new perspectives to Congress. It is our job to give our
communities something to believe in — to believe that we will not stand
down, but fight back, and win.

We must work harder, think smarter, and strategize for the long-term.
[ [link removed] ]I am proud to lead our Progressive Caucus and fight to protect our
democracy in the halls of Congress. If you want to help us stay organized
against these extremist Republicans — please chip in $3 or
any amount today.

In solidarity,

Pramila
