We believe everyone deserves the essentials: a roof over their head, a stocked pantry, and the ability to see a doctor when they're sick without worrying about the size of the bill.
Right now, there are thousands of people in our state who aren't getting by. Not every family has enough money to pay for their basic needs like rent, food and healthcare.
That's why we're fighting for a Guaranteed Basic Income (GBI). This program would get monthly payments to people with low incomes so that every Washingtonian can pay their bills — no matter where they live or how much money they make.
To kick off this year's legislative session, Representative Berry has introduced HB 1045 to create a statewide GBI pilot program in Washington, and we have a hearing scheduled for it on Wednesday, January 11 (next week!) at 1:30pm in the House Human Services, Youth, and Early Learning Committee.
Would you take 30 seconds to sign in “PRO” for GBI?
