We hope you had a great holiday season and New Year’s celebration with loved ones! Congressman Kim returned to Washington this week to begin the 118th Congress. However, the start of the new Congress and swearing-in of new members has been delayed as Republicans fail to elect a new Speaker of the House. As of this afternoon, Republicans have failed to elect a Speaker 13 times.

We are ready and eager to begin a new Congress and continue our work for you and this district. In the meantime, we hope you find the following updates and resources helpful. 

Congressman Kim Hosts Open House in Washington

This Tuesday, Congressman Kim and our Washington office were happy to host friends and new faces at an Open House! The office was filled with great conversation on the work to come for our community and the partnerships that make it all happen. We are grateful for everyone who stopped by!

Congressman Kim Joins Local Leaders in Mount Laurel

At the beginning of the week, Congressman Kim joined Mount Laurel assembly members and County Commissioners for a swearing-in ceremony! We are excited to continue our work with local leaders to meet critical local needs!

Reflecting on the Two Year Anniversary of the January 6th Attack on the Capitol

Today, Congressman Kim joined colleagues for a moment of reflection on the anniversary of the January 6th insurrection. As we remember the events of that day, we honor the bravery of our Capitol Police officers and grieve for the lost and injured law enforcement personnel.

Today we renew our commitment to strengthening democracy and its institutions.

REMINDER: New Savings on Insulin Started this January 1!

On January 1st, the cost of insulin for seniors on Medicare was officially capped at just $35 per month. Congressman Kim secured these huge savings through the Inflation Reduction Act last Congress.

We are committed to continuing our work to lower health costs for all Americans and are proud to take this major step for our seniors!

Congressman Kim Releases End of Congress Report

As 2022 and the 117th Congress came to a close, Congressman Kim released a report to recap our work over the last two years! The highlights include passing meaningful legislation to lower healthcare costs, repair our infrastructure, fight climate change, and support small businesses, working families, seniors, veterans and military families.

We Have a Winner of our Congressional App Challenge!

At the end of last month, Congressman Kim congratulated our 2022 Congressional App Challenge Winners from New Jersey’s 3rd Congressional District!

Ethan Friedman and Emanuel Cruzat from Rancocas Valley Regional High School won for their app “Talking Civics.” The app is a brilliant way to promote civic engagement and help people learn more about government!

Open Enrollment and Medicare Enrollment Reminder! 

You can enroll for your 2023 healthcare coverage via healthcare.gov. On the marketplace, you can review different plans and find an affordable option that works for you. In New Jersey, open enrollment goes until January 31st. You can get started at Get Covered NJ.

Congressional Redistricting Reminder

It is our honor to serve each and every one of you. We are grateful for all the work we have gotten done together over the past four years and look forward to all that we will accomplish next. 

Due to congressional redistricting after the 2020 census, New Jersey's 3rd Congressional District has changed. Beginning January 3, 2023 Congressman Kim no longer represents Ocean County but will continue to represent nearly all of Burlington County, and will newly represent parts of Mercer and Monmouth Counties.  

We encourage you to visit house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative to identify your Congressional Representative at that time.
