The entire team at RSF wishes you and all your loved-ones a happy and successful 2023.
RSF ended 2022 with a press release reporting that 1,668 journalists have been killed in the past 20 years, an average of 80 every year. Behind the figures, there are the faces, personalities, talent and commitment of those who have paid with their lives for their information gathering, their search for the truth and their passion for journalism. The end of the year was an appropriate time to pay tribute to them and to appeal for full respect for the safety of journalists wherever they work and bear witness to the world’s realities.
In this context, RSF’s commitment is more necessary than ever. The challenges facing us in 2023 are immense, but we know that we can count on your support to help us face them. With your help, we will continue our fight not only to protect journalists but also to develop legislative frameworks favourable to press freedom. We will fight to guarantee the conditions necessary for investigative reporting. And we will support media outlets that are being threatened, harassed or obstructed, and are battling to preserve their independence.
Many thanks for the confidence you have placed in us !
