But John, as amusing as it is to see national Republicans tear each other apart, the chaos we're watching in Washington is a reminder of what happens when a party has made one too many promises to an extreme base that will keep asking for more.
If we're not careful, the extremism currently paralyzing Congress could spread just a little bit south into our Commonwealth — especially if the GOP gains a majority in the State Senate.
The far right has become increasingly emboldened at both the state and federal levels. And "establishment" Republicans — be they Glenn Youngkin or Kevin McCarthy — have been happy to let it happen so long as they saw an electoral benefit.
If the GOP is able to grind the gears of government to a halt with zero consequences at the ballot box, it's going to set a very dangerous precedent.
