This week, Senator Debbie Stabenow announced she will not be running for reelection in 2024.
Senator Stabenow has committed to bettering our great state of Michigan for 48 years. She has worked tirelessly to support our auto workers and industry, fight for women and children, improve resources for our veterans, and so much more.
As Michigan’s first female U.S. senator, Debbie was a relentless fighter for Michigan. The first bill Debbie passed in the U.S. Senate banned oil and gas drilling on our Great Lakes and she authored the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative.
Not only did she fight for our climate, but she moved forward critical legislation to keep money in the pockets of Michigan families and small businesses while she authored transformative bills like the Bring Jobs Home Act and Make It In America Act to keep good-paying jobs and American-made goods in America. Senator Stabenow helped our state and country’s farming industry by expanding opportunities and programs for farms of all sizes.
Her legacy will live on in our state, and in our Senate.
Thank you once again for your partnership and dedication, Senator Stabenow.
