Happy New Year Comrade!

It’s a new year, and things are already underway. Akron teachers (AEA) may strike on Monday, Jan 9. We will share information as we get it, so make sure to follow us on socials (instagram, facebook, twitter), and we’ll share as we learn. There’s a lot you can do to support Akron teachers in their fight for safer schools.  

Now: Send Emails to the Board and Administration and share the form with others.
Saturday 1/7: Make some picket signs (ideas below). Saturday is the final day of bargaining before the strike, we are not sure when we will know the outcome.
Sunday 1/8: Check email and social media for picket locations and other strike support opportunities
Monday 1/9: Visit a picket line. Not sure what to do? Check out this DSA Labor Picket Line Do's and Don'ts Guide
Monday 1/9, 4:30p: Come to the rally before the 5:30p Board of Education Meeting (10 N. Main St.). Wear blue and bring a friend.

Also on Monday, Jan, 9, Akron City Council is back in session. We are still waiting for more information on White Pond, and we need to make sure they know we’re still watching.
