Two years ago today, a mob of insurrectionists stormed our Capitol to upend everything America stands for. They violently tried to take away our freedom.

The attack on Congress shook the fundamental fabric of our democracy - free and fair elections. But brave men and women came together to defend our country and protect lives and our democracy. We remember those we lost. To all who were and who continue to be on the frontlines of this fight, thank you.

In the two years since, we have made progress – we took a stand against extremism and political violence, we investigated the heinous attack and took action, and we took additional steps to protect our voting rights and our democracy. We are not done.

I will continue to stand up for accountability and our democracy. Thank you for standing with me.
