** LGBT people nine times more likely than non-LGBT people to be victims of violent hate crimes
------------------------------------------------------------
An analysis of hate crime data from the 2017-2019 National Crime Victimization Survey finds that about one out of 10 violent victimizations against LGBT people are hate crimes. LGBT people are nine times more likely than non-LGBT people to be victims of violent hate crimes. In addition, LGBT victims of violent hate crimes were more likely to have physical and psychological symptoms as a result of the attack when compared with LGBT victims of violent crimes that were not hate crimes.
