ADL Congratulates Netanyahu, Express Concern About Inclusion of Extremists in Coalition

In a

statement following the formation of a new Israeli government, ADL congratulated Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the new coalition, calling it &ldquo;a demonstration of Israel&rsquo;s nearly seventy-five years of vibrant democracy.&rdquo;


The statement also expressed deep concern about the government&rsquo;s inclusion of individuals and parties whose policies on Israel&rsquo;s judiciary, relations with Israel&rsquo;s minority communities, LGBTQ rights, religious pluralism, and Palestinian affairs historically run counter to Israel&rsquo;s founding principles. ADL added that it would closely will monitor and respond to actions on these issues as warranted, and would also continue our work on the ground in Israel to promote social cohesion within Israeli society, and work to combat anti-Zionist and anti-Israel trends around the world.

Marina Rosenberg Announced as New Senior Vice President for International Affairs



ADL announced the appointment of former Israeli diplomat Marina G. Rosenberg as SVP of International Affairs.

In a statement , CEO Jonathan Greenblatt said that Marina&rsquo;s &ldquo;deep expertise in working to counter antisemitism, her experience in promoting social impact initiatives and her global contacts will be tremendous assets to help move this work forward.&rdquo;


Marina has 16 years of experience leading diplomatic missions abroad, serving in diplomatic and ambassadorial roles in the Persian Gulf, Europe and Latin America. In 2019, she was appointed as Israel&rsquo;s first female Ambassador to Chile. Marina will assume this role in mid-January.


ADL Expresses Solidary with the People of Ukraine

published a joint op-ed with Boris Lozhkin, President of the Jewish Confederation of Ukraine, declaring:


We at the Anti-Defamation League, together with the rest of the American Jewish community; and we, members of the Ukrainian Jewish community, stand in solidarity in the historic struggle for Ukrainian freedom in the war against the Russian invader.


We collectively understand this is a critical moment in the history of post-World War II Europe &ndash; both strategically and morally. We understand what is at stake in this war and we are proud to advocate for continued and expanded Western military, political and economic support for Ukraine.

In response to the Islamic Republic arbitrarily targeting religious minorities in Iran, ADL's Task Force on Middle East Minorities

released a statement calling on the international community to do more to address the regime&rsquo;s human rights violations.

welcomed the expelling of Iran from the UN&rsquo;s Committee on the Status of Women, and called on other international organizations to follow suit.
