Democrat Eric Swalwell represents California's 14th Congressional District. 

Team, two years ago was one of the darkest days in American history.

Confederate flags and Nazi garb were paraded through the United States Capitol as the building was breached for the first time since 1814. A right-wing mob stormed the steps, scaled the walls, and infiltrated Congress while we were upholding our constitutional duty to certify the election results.

And thanks to the January 6th House Committee, we now know without question that it was a coordinated, organized effort by Trump and his cronies to create distrust in our elections and incite violence that day.

Donald Trump and every member of Congress who enabled his refusal to concede and incitement of violence have blood on their hands, and they must pay for what they’ve done. For the safety of our democracy, it’s time to hold Trump accountable and for criminal charges to be brought against him.

Together, we will recover. And with you by my side, I will continue to fight like hell for our democracy and for our country.
