Two years ago today, we watched in horror as a violent, right-wing extremist mob stormed the U.S. Capitol to stop the electoral count and overthrow American democracy.

As a result of the events of that fateful day, nine people have died and nearly 1,000 Trump supporters are facing criminal repercussions for their actions.  Despite Trump’s best efforts to overthrow the bedrock of the American government, democracy held firm, and Biden was certified as the winner.

But now, Trump, his GOP co-conspirators and the Fox News disinformation machine would prefer that Americans forget all about it. We refuse to let that happen. That’s why we put out a new clip on Youtube tracking the full timeline of Trump’s attempted coup – you can check it out here by clicking the GIF:

We started this movement because we understand the power of words to inspire people – for better or for worse. The unabashed political violence of Jan. 6 was the natural result of the GOP’s nonstop hateful rhetoric for the last two decades.

Now, the walls are starting to close in on Trump: between the feds, the IRS, numerous state investigations and the GOP’s disastrous performance in the midterms, we are hopeful that it won’t be much longer until he faces real, meaningful justice.

But until that happens, we’re in this for the long haul – as long as it takes for our country to reunite around democracy once again.

We cannot and will not ever forget the day we came so close to losing our democracy – because if those who forget history are doomed to repeat it, then  the next time a coup is launched, the perpetrators will not be stopped so easily.
