John, it’s been two years since Donald Trump incited an insurrection.
We all remember the scenes from that day. Trump’s supporters storming the Capitol. Rioters breaking windows and attacking police officers. Members of Congress wearing gas masks and hiding.
It wasn’t until 3:42 a.m. — nearly 15 hours later — when the Electoral College votes were certified and President Biden was formally declared the winner.
Democracy prevailed that day. But the fight to defend our democracy against Donald Trump and his election-denying allies continues.
Republicans have had multiple chances to hold Donald Trump accountable for the January 6 riot. Instead, they’ve embraced him with open arms — accepting his endorsements and even going to Mar-A-Lago to beg for his support.
Enough is enough. Republicans have shown their true colors. We cannot let any of them get another inch of power.
We have a lot of work to do to defend our democracy and ensure the events of January 6 never happen again. We hope you’ll continue this fight with us.
