Two years ago, January 6th, 2021 began as a victorious day for democracy and ended as a violent nightmare.

That day, I watched colleagues from both sides of the aisle petrified with fear when the violent mob of insurrectionists breached the U.S. Capitol building. 

And then, I witnessed 147 of those Republican lawmakers attempt to throw out the result of a legitimate election.

Five people lost their lives because of the actions of the defeated former president and the spineless Republicans who spread his Big Lie. But in the two years since, we have vehemently refused to let Trump’s allies in Congress bury the memory of that awful day.

My colleagues on the January 6th Committee worked diligently to uncover the truth and hold the perpetrators accountable. And in November, some election deniers were defeated at the ballot box.

But make no mistake: there are still far too many MAGA extremists in public office – and they pose an ever-present danger to American democracy. We can, and must, ensure that all our leaders uphold their oath of office, abide by the will of the people, and defend our Constitution from all enemies – both foreign and domestic.

That’s why I’m asking you today to pitch in $10, $25, or whatever you can towards our pro-democracy movement. Can we count on your support at this critical moment?
