** Some good news to start the year...
------------------------------------------------------------

Happy New Year !

We started 2023 with some good news: single bus fares have been capped at £2 around the country! Campaign for Better Transport called for this ([link removed]) - it will help with the cost of living, cut traffic and pollution, and inject new life into bus services. But why is the Government limiting these great benefits to just three months? We are calling for the bus fare cap to be extended. We will soon let you know how you can add your voice, but in the meantime, why not see where you can go for just £2?

** Please make a donation to our Christmas appeal
------------------------------------------------------------

If you are one of the many people who have already donated to our Christmas appeal, warmest thanks. We will use your gift to campaign for good, affordable green transport for every community.

If you haven't yet donated, it's not too late - our Christmas appeal is open for one more week. Our work relies on the generosity of our kind supporters, so if you would like to help build a greener, fairer transport system, please make a one-off donation or sign up to give a regular gift.

Supporter Meg "Buses and trains enable ALL members of the community to travel. They are essential for those who cannot drive for health reasons. They reduce road congestion and air pollution. In these times of climate emergency, it is more vital than ever that we learn to operate in a community-focused way. Public transport is a key element of that way of thinking. We NEED our buses and trains!" - Meg, supporter

P.S. Did you spot us in the Guardian ([link removed]) , the Independent ([link removed]) or the Evening Standard ([link removed]) over the New Year? We were calling for a 'super-tax' on private jets to help pay for better public transport services around the country. With your support, we can do much more campaigning like this...
