Audubon CEO Elizabeth Gray reflects on the CBC
January 5 is National Bird Day, a time to celebrate avian life and to bring attention to our duty to protect birds from the effects of a changing climate. Today also marks the end of the 123rd Audubon Christmas Bird Count, a unique community science effort that serves as one of the longest-running wildlife censuses in the world and helps shape research and conversation work.

Audubon’s CEO Elizabeth Gray recently reflected on this beloved winter tradition—and what the data tells us about how bird populations are changing.
