Federal policy is an important component of the work we do on the ground at Grounded Solutions because it determines the types and amount of funding that our members can access. While Grounded Solutions Network continues to advocate for key legislation on behalf of the field, it is critical that Congressional representatives also hear from you, the constituents doing the work in their communities. Direct engagement with your elected officials is one of the best ways to expand opportunities for the shared equity field at the federal level.

With that in mind, we are excited to announce our Federal Advocacy 101 Webinar – introducing the basic strategies you can use to advocate for resources and policy change at the federal level. We will be reviewing basic concepts of the federal policy process, tips for effective meetings and communications, and resources produced by Grounded Solutions to help you effectively build relationships and advocate.

We will also take this opportunity to introduce our new and improved national policy team. Amanda Bennett, our new National Strategy Associate, joins the policy shop at Grounded Solutions after 6 years working in our Operations department. Brian Stromberg, our new National Policy Director, joins us after several years at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
