At some point, the drama in the House Republican leadership fight will end (I guess?) and then, shortly after that, George Santos will be sworn in as a Congressman for New York's 3rd District. (You can ignore the press release his office posted claiming he'd already been sworn in — just another lie from the Long Island Liar.)

He promised us the truth and, instead, he shrugged and said, "My sins here are embellishing my resume" — as if that's a complete accounting of his completely fabricated life.

Since the moment the public learned that George Santos was a fraud, I've been demanding answers, accountability, and action from the authorities.

* I've called on the US Attorney to conduct a federal investigation.
* I've called on the Attorney General and District Attorney to conduct state investigations.
* I've stood with Jewish leaders in our community to condemn his lies about his grandparents and the Holocaust.
* I've introduced Long Island's first "Campaign Honesty Bill" to make it a misdemeanor for candidates to lie about their address, employment history, education, or income.
* And I've stood with many NY-03 residents to make it plain: He should not be sworn in — and when he is, he should be expelled immediately.

The people of Long Island deserve better. They deserve a Member of Congress who will actively fight for Long Island working families, not one fighting to keep himself out of jail.
