Good afternoon friend,
The New Year’s countdown has ushered in 2023 and now the real countdown begins. The Heath and Social Care Select Committee’s consultation on assisted dying
closes on the 20th January - in just 15 days’ time.
This is your opportunity to tell the Committee why assisted dying is important
to you - to make sure MPs know why the current law fails dying people and their
loved ones. Will you respond to the consultation today?

The consultation asks six quick questions about your views on the current law
and the assisted dying debate. I’ve compiled some guidance
[[link removed]] for answering these questions if you want to make sure that you’re answering in
the way that can best support the campaign.

In Question 2, it’s particularly important that you tell the Committee about any
personal experience you have of the current law that you feel comfortable
sharing, especially if:
* you or someone you love has a terminal illness
* you have witnessed a loved one’s bad death in the UK, despite the best
efforts of end-of-life care
* a terminally ill loved one has ended their own life in the UK
* you have ever accompanied a loved one for assistance to die overseas
If you don’t have a personal experience please do still explain to MPs why you
support law change in Question 2.
You have 15 days to get your views over to the committee - please, respond to the consultation
[[link removed]] as soon as you can.
All best wishes,
Sadie Kempner
