Israel is safer and the U.S.-Israel relationship is stronger because of our work together with Congress
Dear Friend of Israel,
In the final weeks of 2022, Congress passed vital pro-Israel provisions as part of the major funding and authorization bills for 2023.
These bipartisan initiatives, adopted thanks to the support of AIPAC activists, included:
$500 million for U.S.-Israel missile defense cooperation, including programs like Iron Dome, David's Sling and Arrow.
$47.5 million for U.S.-Israel anti-tunnel cooperation, to help Israel address the threat of terror tunnels, while also helping American forces.
$25 million for U.S.-Israel counter-drone cooperation, to help keep Israel safe from Iranian attack drones.
THE DEFEND Act, which promotes regional missile defense cooperation between the U.S., Israel and its Arab partners.
But the dangers to Israel — and our work together — are far from over.
In the year ahead, we must continue working to build meaningful relationships with those who are in a position to shape America’s alliance with Israel and advance policies that help keep our ally safe.
Sincerely, Brian Shankman Chief Strategy Director for National Affairs
