Dear American Patriot,
We're now up to 210 members in our program here at Project K-9 Hero.
Military Working Dog (MWD) Bailey is our 199th member.
When you are finished reading, I ask that you please share her story along with the challenges retired
K-9 Heroes face, as that may help us save more lives.
During her service, MWD Bailey participated in a combat deployment to Iraq, until an accident while
working forced her into an early retirement for medical reasons.
MWD Bailey has put herself in harm's way in the line of duty many times to make sure that American lives
were saved.
Now Bailey is retired with her handler, who also served in the military.
However, due to her accident, MWD Bailey is on a host of medications that total approximately
$500 a month, which is no longer covered by the government. As you know, when our K-9s are on active duty, all of their financial needs are
covered. But when they retire, that lifeline is cut off, despite the fact that in retirement is often when these heroes need that help the most.
In Bailey's case, her list of injuries is quite extensive. It includes joint pain, lameness, partial
blindness, cardiac arrest, and a number of other issues. That's a lot for one K-9 Hero to go through.
Another problem is, MWD Bailey is also in need of surgery that was not performed by the military prior
to her discharge, which could cost thousands of dollars.
When we at Project K-9 Hero learned of MWD Bailey's situation, we of course jumped at the chance to help
her. Because of Bailey's outstanding service to our country, her extensive medical needs, and the financial burden those needs will place on her
handler, we are honored to place MWD Bailey into our program so we can cover all future office visits, medications, and surgeries at
100%, for the rest of her life.
Remember, Bailey is the 199th member in our program. So we have an obligation to dozens of heroes all
the time.
Typically, we spend a minimum of $4,000 a year on a K-9's normal expenses, like food and prescriptions.
But we also often spend over $10,000 in one week on emergency medical expenses, like the surgery Bailey needs.
The reality is that these K-9s in our program would be in great danger if not for the help of loyal
friends like you. In fact, without that support, we would have had to turn many away, and they might have ended up being euthanized in such
cases.
What I'm saying is, you have helped us save lives.
Now, MWD Bailey has a long road of care ahead of her. She needs that upcoming surgery.
Because of this, I must ask you for an important favor on behalf of this hero.
Will you make a generous gift so Bailey can get her ongoing care and surgery?
It's not just her either. Your gift would help us take care of all the K-9 Heroes already in our
program.
I understand I'm asking for a lot. I just don't want to fail MWD Bailey or the other K-9s who depend on
us.
Your continued support would be humbly welcomed.
Thank you for looking out for our retired K-9 Heroes.
Respectfully,
Jason Johnson

P.S. Military Working Dog Bailey is just one example of how K-9 Heroes are treated when they retire from
duty. They are usually financially abandoned with several health issues that become expensive. In MWD Bailey's case, she still needs a surgery due to
the accident that led to her retirement.
Please, will you click here to make a generous gift so we can
help Bailey get the surgery she needs soon, and also to take care of all the K-9s in our program? Thank you for looking out for these brave K-9
Heroes who've risked their lives to keep us safe.
