The U.S. House of Representatives is still struggling to elect a speaker. Today, the Republican rebels rallied behind Rep.-elect Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) — a Florida representative who voted to overturn the 2020 presidential election results and supports Florida’s voter suppression law. Arizona Republican attorney general candidate Abe Hamadeh filed a motion for a new trial in his lawsuit challenging his loss — you can check out the filing here. [link removed]
Here’s what to expect coming up.
We’re waiting to see if Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) signs Ohio’s photo ID bill into law. The bill passed the Ohio Legislature in December. If he doesn’t sign or veto the bill, it will become law without his signature. [link removed]
