Democrats,
You’ve seen the news - House Republicans are in disarray as the world watches their embarrassing inability to govern and elect a Speaker after (at the time of this email) six rounds of voting. Our country is without a sitting Congress while Republicans make behind-the-scenes power plays to protect a handful of fragile egos. On the other hand, Democrats are not only proving their unity and competence to lead, they are making historic progress, even as the minority. House Democrats elected Hakeem Jeffries to succeed Nancy Pelosi to be the first Black congressional party leader in the history of the United States. These Democrats, including all three NM Representatives, are showing Republicans how to behave like adults and are making history as we pave the way to a more diverse and representative government.

We can only continue to move forward and fight Republican lunacy with the help of Democrats like you. Although New Mexico Democrats are demonstrating sound leadership in Congress, we can’t let up on our efforts and allow inept Republicans to represent us.
