John, the General Assembly is back in Raleigh this morning, and it’s anyone’s guess what harm they’ll attempt to do to our environment and democracy.
But two things we do know:

We’re building a grassroots movement that can’t rely just on big donors. Your renewed support will send a message to powerful polluters and their pet politicians: “The people are coming to take your seats!”
Renewing your membership at just the $10 level will fuel our most ambitious election effort to date, and fund our voter outreach efforts in key districts.
Thanks for being on our team,

Subject: With your help, we could have a pro-environment legislature one year from today
To: John xxxxxx <[email protected]>
John, It’s now 2020, and the long 2019 session isn’t even technically over. The General Assembly comes back into session Tuesday to try to wreak more havoc on our environment. ☹️ The bad news: last year, legislators filed lots of bad bills protecting polluter profits, and few good bills passed. But here’s the good news: we’ve stopped most of those bills — so far. We can’t let up now. Help us hold the line by renewing your membership today >> Thanks to your activism, we've defeated bills which would have: ❌ Banned wind energy across almost all of Eastern North Carolina ❌ Let Duke Energy pay for their coal ash mess by hiking your power bill years at a time ❌ Exempted hog farms from odor rules and kept their records secret ❌ Gouged hybrid and electric car owners for trying to save our environment That’s because when we asked, you called and emailed your legislators. It’s also because we elected enough new allies in 2018 to uphold our pro-environment Gov. Roy Cooper’s veto when he uses it. And he’s had to — more than any governor in history. But we’ll never be able to tackle the urgent climate crisis, protect our people from polluters, or enact the positive environmental agenda our state deserves unless we change leadership this fall. Most people are giving at least $34 right now, but even $10 makes a difference in our work this critical election year!
