John,
Thank you. Because of you, we not only met our end-of-year budget targets, we exceeded them. Through every test we faced in 2022, this team proved once again there is nothing we can’t overcome when we come together to face our challenges head-on.
Now, we look to the future. On Monday, we were honored to be sworn in for a second term as Governor and Lt. Governor of Minnesota.
Voters spoke clearly in this election. They want us to get things done, and with our state’s $17.6 billion surplus, we have a golden opportunity to make historic investments that will improve the lives of Minnesotans for generations to come.
So, let us say this: The era of gridlock is over. We will make the largest investment in education in our state’s history. We will pass universal school meals. We will work tirelessly to end child poverty in Minnesota. And we will make sure Minnesota is the best place in the nation to work, live, and raise a family.
We have a positive vision for the future that’s rooted in the idea that we’re all in this together. But One Minnesota doesn’t mean we’re all the same. It means we’re able to work across lines of difference to do what’s right for every Minnesotan in every zip code.
We’ve never been more hopeful for the future. Thank you so much for all you do for this campaign and the entire state of Minnesota.
With gratitude,
Tim and Peggy
