Happy New Year.
Yesterday, I was officially sworn in for a new six-year term in the Senate. I want to thank everyone who got involved in our campaign last year -- everyone who read the emails, posted on social media, donated, volunteered, voted. It made a difference, and I really appreciate all you do.
In our Senate majority, I’ll be taking on a new role in our caucus as Deputy Conference Secretary, a position that gives me the opportunity to shape and defend our priorities. I’m honored to serve in this new leadership role and continue to work on the challenges facing families in Hawaii and across the country, like our efforts to lower costs, address income inequality, protect the future of our democracy, and take on the biggest threat facing our planet: climate change.
At a time when there are so many big issues facing us, I am grateful to have the opportunity to fight for the values we share. I don’t take it for granted for one minute.
Mahalo,
Brian
