Yesterday, Stacey was supposed to be sworn into the 118th Congress. Instead, chaos ensued.

While Stacey and her fellow House Democrats proudly united to vote for Rep. Hakeem Jeffries as House Democratic Leader, MAGA Republicans spent the afternoon fighting over who should lead their party. Ultimately, they rejected McCarthy as their Speaker in three different votes. 

This is the first time in 100 years that a Speaker election required more than one floor vote. And members can’t be sworn in or begin working on legislation until the GOP stops bickering. 

Democrats are bringing common sense to the People’s House – Republicans are bringing chaos. Now that MAGA extremists have thrown the Republican Party into disarray, this is our best shot to show just how strong Democrats are.
