Given the chaos in the House at the moment, you’re probably wondering who will emerge as the next speaker. But rather than speculate on which Republican will manage to find a way to bridge the divide between Rep. Kevin McCarthy’s supporters and detractors, we have a different suggestion: Nominate someone from outside the box! 

America is home to a wide range of individuals perfectly capable of getting support from both Republicans and Democrats—people who could finally help Congress make bipartisan legislating the norm. So why not try installing one of them as speaker instead? 

Here is the list of people No Labels recommends as strong “outside the box” speaker candidates.
