Hey John ,
In 2016, the Obama administration created a stronger borrower defense rule —a federal consumer protection law allowing students who’ve been cheated by their colleges and universities to have their loans discharged.
Over the years, hundreds of students have filed claims to prevent them from being buried in debt for years. But in 2019, Department of Education Secretary Betsy Devos, and the Trump administration made changes that make it nearly impossible for scammed students to get any sort of relief. (1)
In fact, according to the Department of Education, only THREE percent of loans that are affiliated with a school’s misconduct will be cancelled. But Congress has a chance to act for cheated borrowers on this. We need YOUR help to restore the stronger protections originally introduced in 2016. [[link removed]]

Next week, Congress will vote on rules protecting students from illegal conduct by colleges and universities. Make your voice heard TODAY.
Email your legislators and tell them you demand their support for a strong borrower defense in order to protect students and taxpayers from sneaky colleges. [[link removed]]
