Why Is It So Hard To Go Back To School After The Holidays?
[[link removed]]
At some point – thankfully – the kids have to go back to school. Yours are
probably already back, in fact, unless they’re home with COVID, or the flu, or
maybe strep. (Or your travel plans were completely discombobulated by weather,
like mine!) And wow, that is not an easy transition. In fact, as Jill Robbins
points out today, it’s maybe even harder than going back to school after summer
break: “When the first day back to school rolls around in January, everyone is
sluggish and tired. Although the kids probably feel some excitement over seeing
their friends again, there’s not that same nervous, happy rush of energy that’s
present in August.”
Give it a read to find out what she’s doing with her own kids to help things
along.

Good God, Teens Really Are Moody
[[link removed]]
“We all experience inconsistent moods or know someone who does. But when your
kids are moody, especially toward you, it’s an entirely different experience,”
writes Diana Park today. “I have three teens who roam the halls of my house. At
any given moment at least one of them

is having, well, a moment.” And so she’s learned a bit about managing those
moods. Give it a read and see if you see anything helpful for your house.
